Bella Luna Makes 2009 KWPN-NA TOP FIVE

We just received official notification that Bella Luna (Ikoon x Uganda M by Wolfgang) placed 3rd overall in the ISF Cup for Three Year Old Jumpers in North America during the KWPN-NA Tour. Congratulations Bella!

From the KWPN:

With the onset of specialization the Top Ten was changed to the Top Fives and contains the top results in each of the five Breeding Directions: Dressage, Jumper, Hunter, Gelders and Harness. To qualify for the Top Fives, horses must earn a First Premium or Star rating in the inspection classes, or a passing score in the IBOP classes.

This means that horses with Register A papers being inspected for studbook are not eligible for inclusion in the Top Fives unless all requirements have been met.

Placement of mares, geldings and stallions is based on: a) on overall Linear score (Conformation and Movement/Jumping) and b) on the score for movement or jumping.

Bella Luna Places 3rd Overall in ISF Cup for 3-Year Old Jumpers

The KWPN Top Five results have just been announced, and we are delighted to announce that Bella Luna has placed 3rd overall in the Iron Spring Farm Cup for Young Jumpers.

The KWPN Iron Spring Farm Cup for Young Jumpers is sponsored by Iron Spring Farm and is in part patterned after the Ian Trophy classes for young horses in Holland. Horses are evaluated on gaits, reflexes, technique, scope, attitude, ride-ability and willingness. The class is open to both jumper and hunter horses.

Bella Luna, a 2006 KWPN mare sired by Ikoon out of the Wolfgang mare Uganda M, had a very successful keuring at Prima Equestrian in September, where she was entered into the studbook. Bella has been designated by the KWPN as a Hunter type (HP), due to her excellent technique and aptitude under saddle and over fences.

Video of Bella Luna free jumping at the Keuring can be viewed at:
